AUS ATTENTION: My complete DVD-programm and the Foto-Show about Mangrove Bay you will find in my Ebay-Shop. In Lahami Bay you ll find 2 places to stay, a 4-star hotel and a camp ground with 30 tents. You can choose the type you like. Most of travel agency in Germany offer the hotel, Lahami Bay Hotel. This luxurious hotel is quite large and has 220 rooms (building more for the near future). Most (90%) of guests at this hotel were German. Because I prefer small hotels, I stayed at Wadi Lahami Camp. It is located 1km north of the hotel. The camp offers 30 Arabic style tents and 8 cabins for guests like me who wants privacy. There are a restaurant and a diving center in the camp ground. That s all it is. Near the camp there is a nature reserve with saltwater mangroves (no mosquitos). This is a good place for bird watching. I have seen eagles, flycatcher, herons and many other kinds during my stay. Many bird watchers come here and take pictures and videos. I must now tell you something most important about the world under water and the house reef in Egypt. The camp is in a large bay and for the most time the wind blows from the land out to the bay. So the water is usually calm. The beach to the reef is abut 800 meter, and divers can get to the reef by boat. There is a short cut you can walk from the bay heading to the south which is more like only 100m. You have to see the underwater there. There is a good chance to see big rays (leopard stingrays, feathertail ...
